INTRODUCTION

Balatalion Farm is located in Kilflynn in the South West of Ireland, between the North Kerry Towns of Tralee and Listowel. Owned by Michael & Norah Brady the herd was formed in 1999. The nucleus of the herd was purchased from within the top herds in Ireland. The Herd has been very successful in a short time due to a combination of purchasing top quality foundation stock and total commitment to breeding the perfect beef animal.

We have always sought and selected from the very best bloodlines. Our Pedigree Charolais Herd consists of about 8 cows plus followers. We also run a herd of commercial suckler cows producing top quality Charolais cross weanlings aimed at the export market. Total head of cattle including commercials is usually around 20 cows plus followers totalling 60 head, running on a forage area of 30acres. Cattle bred at Balatalion Farm have excelled in all spheres. We have produced a number of prize winners in the commercial and pedigree showrings, top performing Tully bulls and many successful pedigree and commercial herd sires.

This Herd participates in the Farm Recording Scheme and Linear Scoring. All cattle are linear scored and farm recorded and evaluated under the Euro Star system.

As well as cattle a small flock of Pedigree Belgian Beltex sheep are kept on the farm.
